Electronic Enrollment – The Ultimate Sales Sidekick

Author: Chris Hagerstrom

54 days, 50+ million prospects.  To say the Medicare market is full of opportunity is an understatement, and for those who’ve decided to tackle it – congratulations!  With the Annual Enrollment Period pre-marketing in full swing, and October 15th just a few days away, how do we handle all that needs to be done during our limited enrollment window?

Many carriers have recently made available electronic enrollment tools for us to use, and we strongly suggest you do! It will help you have the latest computer software for any of your needs, you can use it for creating a brand new website or even for playing games after work. The days of shuffling paperwork are quickly coming to an end, and if you adopt the new technology available today, you’ll be ahead of the game for years to come, literally, you can play games and be ahead of those people who can´t because of their out of date software, to gain even more advantage you can get some OverWatch Guides, those of you who actually play it.  Let’s evaluate all of the ways that electronic enrollment can benefit our sales and free time during the AEP.

  • Time.  Time is a premium during the AEP, so give yourself a few extra hours and streamline the enrollment process for your clients.  Electronic enrollment tools turn our usual paper application into a step-by-step easy to follow procedure that will reduce the time it takes to complete an app.
  • Accuracy.  With electronic enrollment tools, the accuracy of information sent to the carriers approaches near 100% perfection.  When “clean” applications are submitted, it eliminates the issue of missing information (let’s face it, who wants to chase missing signatures or dates during this time) which means applications are processed quicker and your clients receive their information faster.
  • Sales Tools.  Not only are electronic enrollment tools great for saving time and accuracy, but they come with a whole list of point-of-sale tools you can use.  Selling a Part D plan and need to look up your client’s medications?  Searching through the provider directory for an in-network specialist?  Also, some enrollment tools also have pre-recorded sales videos you can utilize to ensure you are staying 100% CMS compliant.
  • Variety.  Having electronic enrollment tools for Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Part D plans is fantastic, but let’s not forget that many of your favorite ancillary products (Hospital Indemnity, Cancer and Critical Illness, Short Term Care, Dental, etc.) have enrollment tools as well.

Electronic enrollment tools will vary by carrier.  Some will work across all desktop, laptop, and tablet devices and some will work either online (connected to internet), offline, or both.  Get in touch with your agency to see which carriers offer these valuable tools and put them to good use this Annual Enrollment Period.

Happy Selling!
